Nanjing lukou international airport currently has two terminals, T1 and T2.Among them, terminal T1 is located on the west side of the existing airport approach road, which is the core of the terminal area.In 2014, Terminal T1 is closed for suspension with the commissioning of Terminal T2, nanjing planning bureau organized the planning and design work of terminal T1 renovation and expansion project.

According to the approved 《Nanjing Lukou International Airport Genernal Plan》(2008 edition), the airport's annual passenger throughput, annual passenger aircraft movements and cargo and mail throughput will reach 30 million passengers, 255,251 flights and 800,000 tons respectively by 2020.In combination with the development plan of the airport authority and the division of the business functions of the two terminals, terminal 1 is the domestic terminal and terminal 2 is the domestic and international terminal.Terminal 1 is responsible for 12 million passengers per year, while terminal 2 is responsible for 18 million passengers per year.
